Truckside Billboard Frame System Information

enRoute ads utilizes technologies developed by 3M™ in order to affix vinyl billboards the substrates of fleet vehicles. Our billboard frames meet ministry of transport specifications and have been tested worldwide to ensure the bonds are not broken.

Installation Times

Installations times vary upon region and distance from Kelowna, BC. In the event that the client and enRoute ads Inc. arranges for driver installation these figures change. Installation of the frame system which will be affixed to the vehicle itself can be provided by enRoute ads, with installs best occurring between June and September. The average 24 foot trailer takes approximately 2 hours for installation. Additional time would be required to accommodate side doors which may present a problem in the appearance of an advertisement if a solution cannot be arranged.

Installation requirements

Installation is facilitated by temperature; this greatly reduces costs as a temperature controlled installation bay is not necessary (Note: Only for kit affixed to truck, not for kit affixed to billboard). Due to the nature of 3M™ VHB™ glues, 20 degrees is required to establish a bond on the substrate of the truck, this makes the months of June to September ideal and cost effective for installation. As far as installations on the substrate of the truck (the subframe which the billboards are installed onto) enRoute ads can install a frame in any parking lot in North America (weather permitting). This enables us to be mobile and flexible when it comes to substrate installations. The same conditions are required for installation of kits onto prints, but this installation occurs in a warehouse where glue is allowed to cure under proper conditions.

When frame kits are installed on the substrate of the trailers all that is left is mounting the billboard print.  This can be arranged by enRoute ads or a program can be developed in order to train drivers to install billboard prints themselves.

Ministry of Transport Information:

With the use of the Dual Lock™ Frame System there is virtually no protrusion from the side of the box truck. As specified by the Highway Traffic Act in the dimensional limit chart no vehicle may exceed 2.6 meters in width, since manufacturers must adhere to these laws they produce box trucks and trailers to be under the legal width. Therefore most box trucks and trailers measure roughly 2.59 m in width.  The application of the Dual Lock Frame System to both sides of the truck or trailer adds 8.73 mm, bringing the total width of the truck or trailer to 2.59953 m. Thus, the use of 3M Dual Lock Frame Systems complies with the Highway Traffic Act.

By starting with UV inks, adding traditional and polyethylene materials, and supplying contact information for recycling centers nationwide we create sustainable solutions that raise the bar for today's environmentally conscious client. Through the use of UV inks the printing process becomes much more environmentally friendly, there are no Volatile Organic Compounds produced thereby reducing workers’ exposure to hazardous substances and environmental pollutants. With the latest polyethylene material being 100% recyclable we further promote environmentally responsible solutions for today.  However, just saying a material is recyclable and not providing information as to where or how to recycle it is no help at all. We source and provide all contact information for recycling centers wherever your advertisement campaign takes you.

Cost PER Thousand Impressions

CPM calculations yield low figures due to the fact that your companyowns the vehicles in its distribution network. Furthermore, as the length of any campaign increases the average monthly CPM decreases as there are no recurring lease costs. The calculations below assume that the average length of a company Trailer is 24 ft and the average height is 8.5 ft.

Two calculations are provided; one is for the initial campaign which includes the billboard vinyl print with billboard mounting kit installed as well as the billboard frame which is affixed to the vehicle. The second CPM calculation is for an additional campaign which does not need to use another kit to be mounted to the vehicle as one is present already.

This calculation assumes that an average vehicle travels 12 hours per day, 8 on provincial highways and 2 within cities with 2 hours being allotted to delivery of goods during daylight hours 7 days a week with 30.5 days in a month. Please take note that the CPM calculation does not take into consideration vehicles parked in high traffic areas of cities when not in operation. Costs include printing, billboard kits, shipping (average cost in Canada) and installation of the kit onto the print. Calculations will only be provided for cities with a population base of 500,000 or more.
